Matt and Jim did a great job renovating our kitchen including taking down a load bearing wall and replacing it with a beam. Throughout the process they kept us well informed, did quality work, and were reasonably priced. I don’t hesitate to refer them to family and friends. If you are looking for honest contractors that keep to their word look no further than HRM.
Jim and Matt remodeled our kitchen and bathroom. They were honest, reliable, and always on time. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again for any future projects.
We met Jim at the walk-through when we bought this house 4 years ago. We were introduced by our Realtor, who'd employed him for projects at her family's house. His eye for this house's needs created value. His most noticeable work here is the 600-square-foot, two-level deck that replaced a rickety platform built of 2x4s with sunken cinder blocks as footings. We now have a structure with pressure-treated framing, Trex surfaces and Deckorators rails. Jim engineered gentle stairs to the back yard and the upper level. Jim's major achievement during the build was discovery of the poor pouring of the house's foundation 62 years ago, which created an angle that threatened our new deck's square to the building. Jim's knowledge of geometry, construction skill and persistence resulted in a structure that compensates for that odd foundation in two hardly noticeable ways. Vernon building officials complimented Jim twice during inspections for his design, detail and production, We've grown to consider Jim family—because he's worked on this house as though he owned it, taking care and pride that every feature is as he would have it himself. He is to be admired—and hired.
Working with Jim was a pleasure. Not only is he easy to talk to, but extremely knowledgeable in his trade. I had a bathroom remodel and the work was impeccable and performed in a timely manner. HRM Building and Remodeling is a five star business, hands down.
Every detail attended to. Removed the wallpaper from three rooms and painted the walls and ceilings. Great job at a reasonable price.
